Ensure you receive a comprehensive travel medicine consultation prior to travelling

South Coast Medical facilities have general practitioners consulting that can provide comprehensive travel medicine consultations to ensure you are well prepared and safe during your international travel.

A travel medicine consultation will involve general health and precautionary advice, preventative medicines and pre-travel immunisations (these may be dependent on your destination)

What Travel Vaccines are provided by Practitioners?

A range of travel vaccines to protect you while you are travelling overseas may be required.  Practitioners consulting at South Coast Medical offer the below travel immunisations:

  • Cholera
  • Diphtheria
  • Flu Vaccine
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Japanese Encephalitis
  • Measles Mumps Rubella Vaccine
  • Pneumonia Vaccine
  • Polio
  • Rabies
  • Tetanus
  • Typhoid
  • Yellow Fever (please note that Yellow Fever vaccines can only be administered by officially approved yellow fever vaccination providers. See below for a list of general practitioners that are authorised to provide yellow fever vaccines at South Coast Medical.

When Should I See the Doctor for Travel Vaccines?

It's recommended that you seek advice regarding travel vaccines a minimum of 6-8 weeks prior to your departure date.  This will allow sufficient time to assess and discuss your individual travel vaccine requirements, have the vaccines administered and allow time to ensure you have the optimal protection for travel.

If you are short on time or plan a last minute trip, you are still encouraged to seek travel advice as many vaccines can still be administered closer to your travel dates.

Some countries will require proof of immunisation against infectious diseases before granting you entry into the country.

What Doctors consulting at South Coast Medical are approved to administer Yellow Fever Vaccines?

Dr John Liu - Dromana

Dr Nish Balakrishnan - Capel Sound

Dr Neil Stitt - Rye

Dr Damian Flanagan - Blairgowrie

Please note, that no other practitioners consulting at South Coast Medical are approved to provide yellow fever vaccinations to patients.  Other practitioners may consult on and provide other travel vaccines.
